Emmanuel Makandiwa is the founder of United Family International Church (UFIC). Makandiwa was born on 25 December 1977 in Muzarabani. His mother is Lilian Makandiwa and he is also known as Shingirai Chirume. Makandiwa did his secondary school at Zengeza High School in Chitungwiza
Makandiwa after finishing secondary he joined A.F.M’s Living Waters Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Diploma in Theology in 2002. Makandiwa was later assigned to Chitungwiza assembly but left to form his own church after failing to fulfill his duties because of an inter-denominational service he had started in 2008 was growing too big and demanded more of his time.
