Early life

 Linet Munyali was born and raised in Nairobi. Her family later moved to Maringo Estate in Eastlands. Size 8 parents, Esther Njeri and Samuel Kirui Munyali were part of the clergy, and their association with the church introduced her to Christianity. In a recent documentary on NTV, Size 8 noted that although her family managed to take them to school, there were challenges. Conversely, the challenges did not stop her from excelling in education and getting a scholarship to one of the best girls' schools in Kenya — the State House Girls'. At State House Girls', Size 8 discovered that she has a passion for arts and singing. She was also involved in other activities such as acting and journalism.


Family

 Is size 8 a Kikuyu? The Mateke hitmaker is from a mixed tribe family. Her father is from Uganda, and her late mother was a Kikuyu. During a peace campaign in 2017, Size 8 told her followers that she is a Bukusu. However, on multiple occasions, she has cleared the air on her tribe identity by stating that her 'Bukusu' identity was not by genetics, but integration.
