Is Physical Church Better Than Online?

Meet Pastor Sam Roberts.

He’s one of three leaders who’s served more than 20 years alongside our Senior Pastor Craig Groeschel here at Life.Church. Pastor Sam is our Campus Operations leader and oversees our 34 campuses.

Campuses are his primary focus. That’s important, because even though our physical attendance, teams, and ministries are his priority, there are few people on our staff as passionate about online ministry as Sam.

Just like some of you have discovered, Sam has learned that online ministry is not just an alternative to physical ministry, it’s a complement to the work you’re already doing in your church—stretching your in-person ministries into online effectiveness.

Watch this four-minute video from Pastor Sam about using online ministry alongside your physical ministry to reach even more people for Jesus.

Pastor Sam talks about our desire to get “back to normal” after this period of pandemic ends—it’s a normal desire. But, things have changed. Just as Jesus taught not to put new wine in old wineskins because the paradigm of the day had changed, we need to recognize that our paradigm for doing ministry has changed.

“Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

—Matthew 9:17

Watch this video with your pastor, volunteers, or team, and then plan how your online ministry can complement your physical ministry.
